Undo or revert changes
CataSEO keeps every version of your product copy so you can roll back, whether you’re catching a mistake before publishing or fixing one after.
Before approval: discard the optimization
If an optimization is sitting in your Awaiting Review queue and you don’t like it, you don’t need to do anything special — your live storefront is untouched. You can leave it in the queue, edit it before approving, or re-run optimization to generate a fresh version.
After approval: revert the published copy
Once you’ve approved an optimization, the new copy is on your storefront. To put the original back, use revert on the product. CataSEO restores the previous version — what was on your storefront before this optimization — and writes it back to your store.
Undo a bulk approval
If you just clicked Accept All and want to take it back, open the Approved tab and click Undo Accept All. CataSEO reverses every product in the most recent bulk approval, restoring the previous copy on your storefront.
This is a one-step rollback for the most recent bulk action. Older bulk actions can still be reverted, but product by product.
What “previous version” means
CataSEO captures the original copy when a product is first imported, and again whenever you edit a product directly on your storefront. When you revert, CataSEO restores whichever was most recent before the optimization you’re rolling back.
This means: if you edited a product in your store’s admin after CataSEO optimized it, reverting brings back that edit, not the very first imported version.
Token refunds
If you edit a product directly in your storefront while an optimization is still pending review, CataSEO assumes the optimization is no longer wanted, rolls it back to pending, and refunds one batch token.
Tokens for already-approved work are not refunded — that copy was published and the work is done.
FAQ
How far back can I revert? To the version that existed immediately before the last optimization you applied. CataSEO keeps a version history, so contact support if you need to roll back further than that.
If I edited a product directly in my store after CataSEO published, what happens when I revert? Your direct edit is what gets restored, not the very first imported copy. CataSEO treats your store as the source of truth.
Can I revert just one field? The simplest way: edit the field back to the value you want on the approval view, then re-approve. The revert action works at the product level, not the field level.
Will reverting refund my token? No. Tokens are consumed by the optimization work itself. Reverting changes the copy that’s live, but doesn’t refund the token used to generate the optimization.
