Connect a Shopify store

CataSEO installs as a Shopify app via the Shopify App Store.

Before you start

You’ll need:

A Shopify store you own or have access to as the store owner or staff with app-install permission.
That’s it. CataSEO works with all Shopify plan tiers.

Install from the Shopify App Store

Find CataSEO in the Shopify App Store and click Add app.
Pick the store you want to connect.
Review the permissions and confirm the install.

Shopify will redirect you to CataSEO once the install completes.

What permissions CataSEO requests

CataSEO requests read and write access to products (read_products, write_products). That’s the minimum needed to fetch existing product copy and publish optimized copy back to your store after you approve it.

CataSEO does not access customers, orders, inventory, or payment information.

First sync

After install, CataSEO imports your product catalog automatically. Smaller catalogs finish within a minute or two; larger catalogs take longer. You can start setting up your SEO profile while the sync runs.

Troubleshooting

“App not found” — make sure you’re searching the Shopify App Store while signed in to the store you want to connect.
“Authorization failed” — usually caused by signing in to the wrong Shopify account. Sign out, then start install from the target store.
Sync stuck on 0% — give it a few minutes for larger catalogs. If it’s still stuck, see My store isn’t syncing.

FAQ

Will CataSEO publish changes to my Shopify storefront automatically? No. Every optimization waits in your review queue until you approve it. Until you click Approve, your live product copy is untouched.

Can I connect multiple Shopify stores? Yes. Repeat the install on each store; they’ll all appear on your CataSEO home page.

What happens if I uninstall the app? Your SEO profile and pending optimizations are kept for a grace period and resume automatically if you reinstall. If you remain uninstalled, the data is eventually purged per CataSEO’s retention policy.

Does CataSEO work with Shopify Plus? Yes, no different setup required.
