Connect a BigCommerce store
CataSEO installs as a BigCommerce app via the BigCommerce App Marketplace.
Before you start
You’ll need:
- A BigCommerce store you own or have admin access to.
- The ability to install apps on that store (most store owner and admin roles can do this).
CataSEO works with all BigCommerce plan tiers.
Install from the BigCommerce App Marketplace
- In your BigCommerce control panel, open the App Marketplace.
- Search for CataSEO and click Install.
- Review the permissions and confirm the install.
BigCommerce will redirect you to CataSEO once the install completes.
What permissions CataSEO requests
CataSEO requests read and write access to your products so it can fetch existing product copy and write optimized copy back to your store after you approve it. CataSEO does not access customer data, orders, or payment information.
First sync
After install, CataSEO imports your product catalog automatically. Larger catalogs take longer — for most stores this finishes within a few minutes. You can start setting up your SEO profile while the sync runs.
Troubleshooting
- “App not found in the App Marketplace” — make sure you’re searching from inside the BigCommerce control panel, not the public web. The CataSEO listing only appears for stores eligible to install third-party apps.
- “Authorization failed” — the most common cause is signing in to a different store than the one you want to connect. Sign out of all BigCommerce sessions, then start the install again from the target store.
- My products aren’t appearing — see My store isn’t syncing.
FAQ
Will CataSEO change my live product copy without approval? No. Every optimization waits in your review queue until you approve it. Nothing is written to your storefront until you click Approve.
Can I connect multiple BigCommerce stores under one CataSEO account? Yes. Repeat the install on each store and they’ll appear together on your CataSEO home page.
What happens if I uninstall the app? Your stored SEO profile and pending optimizations are kept for a grace period. If you reinstall, everything resumes. If you remain uninstalled, the data is eventually purged per CataSEO’s retention policy.
