My store isn’t syncing
Three different things people mean by this — each has a different fix.
“I just connected my store and nothing imported”
First syncs take a few minutes for typical catalogs and longer for very large ones. Amazon is the slowest because of stricter API rate limits.
While the first sync runs, you can set up your SEO profile. If after 30 minutes you still see an empty product list:
- Confirm the connection on your storefront — the CataSEO app should be installed and active on the platform side.
- For BigCommerce, Shopify, Wix, and WooCommerce, check that the store you connected actually has products (not just drafts).
- If still empty, contact support with your store URL.
“It used to sync and stopped”
The most common cause is a broken connection. If CataSEO can no longer reach your store — because the app was uninstalled, tokens expired, or permissions changed — we email the store admin and pause sync until you reconnect.
See Reconnect your store.
“Some products are missing”
CataSEO can be configured to skip products that aren’t currently published — the Skip inactive products setting on your SEO profile. If you turned that on, draft, hidden, or archived products won’t appear in CataSEO.
Other reasons products might be missing:
- The product was created after your last sync. CataSEO syncs daily; new products take up to 24 hours to appear, faster if the platform sends webhooks for product creation.
- The product is missing required fields (like a name) — CataSEO skips products that can’t be optimized.
- Platform-specific quirks: Shopify draft products, BigCommerce inactive products, Wix unpublished products, Amazon listings in restricted states. These are excluded by design.
“Optimizations aren’t appearing on my storefront”
CataSEO never publishes to your storefront automatically. Approved optimizations write back immediately; pending ones stay in your Awaiting Review queue until you approve them.
Check your Awaiting Review tab first — if there are products there, that’s why your storefront looks unchanged. See Review and approve optimized content.
For Amazon specifically: even after approval, Amazon controls when listings refresh for shoppers. Approved Amazon changes typically appear within a few hours.
FAQ
How often does CataSEO check for new products? Daily, via a scheduled background sync. Some platforms also send webhooks for new products, which can be faster.
Does CataSEO sync deleted products? Deleted products stop appearing in CataSEO once the next sync runs. Pending optimizations for a deleted product are cleared.
Why aren’t my variants showing? CataSEO works at the product level, not the variant level. Variants are part of the parent product’s data and aren’t optimized as separate entities.
My store says I have 500 products but CataSEO shows fewer — why? Check the Skip inactive products setting on your SEO profile. If on, drafts and archived products don’t appear in CataSEO. Also check that the missing products have required fields (like a name).
